The Bosch security systems factory in Ovar, Portugal, has undergone a façade transformation that reflects the company’s commitment to sustainability. The Ovar plant stands out for its forward-thinking approach to environmental responsibility, with a focus on energy-efficient operations and sustainable manufacturing practices. The two-storey office building at the front of the manufacturing site is now clad with custom-made MOSO^® Bamboo X-treme beams. These beams provide both sun shading and a striking natural contrast to the white industrial halls behind. The façade is further enhanced by a vertical garden on the corner of the office building, adding another layer of natural texture.

Architects from Aveiplano selected bamboo for its durability, low maintenance and environmental credentials. With 2,726 linear metres of bamboo used, the project demonstrates how a natural material can elevate industrial architecture while aligning with Bosch’s values.
