Vancouver Island Residence
The owner, Graham Finch from, RDH Building Science, built this beautiful deck...
Spectacular Gambier Island, located in the heart of Howe Sound, is a protected area designated as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 2021 due to its amazing wildlife – especially in the ocean with humpback whales, orcas, dolphins, sea lions, and bald eagles, which are frequently seen.
The deepness of this ocean is comprised by a network of very steep fjords making it a heaven for a rich ocean ecosystem. Gambier Island is a rugged and sparsely populated island that is an off-grid community accessible only by ferry on the Northwest and by boat on the rest of the island. Even with all this, it is located very close to Vancouver, downtown.
MOSO® Bamboo X-treme® Decking fits perfectly in the Gambier Island’s landscape. The natural beauty of bamboo along with MOSO Bamboo X-treme®’s highly durable and stable properties make it an excellent as well as long lasting choice for this wonderful outdoor design.
The outdoor shower, designed by Kenny Bolduc, creates an additional opportunity for the resident to completely immerse themselves in nature.
MOSO® Bamboo X-treme® Decking is used for the surrounding decking and shelves – another proof that there are infinite possibilities of using bamboo in outdoor design.
Worldwide there are numerous examples of projects with bamboo. We would like to present to you a number of recently completed projects:
