Residence in Port Alberni, BC
In the capital of British Columbia, Canada, these home owners can enjoy...
Perched on the cliffs of Bowen Island, this stunning new build seamlessly integrates modern design with the rugged beauty of its surroundings. The first-floor Bamboo X-treme® Deck extends the living space outward, creating a natural connection between the home’s bright interior and the breathtaking views. In harmony with the home’s rainwater harvesting system and energy-efficient design, the deck enhances the project’s commitment to sustainability while providing a stunning outdoor retreat. The owner, Astrid Waalwijk, tells us: “The bamboo boards are a great, stable product. There is no warping, the boards are straight, dense and solid. They are easy to install with the invisible clip system and easy to maintain and clean.”
Bowen Island is a charming, laid-back community nestled in Howe Sound, just a 20-minute ferry ride from Vancouver’s Horseshoe Bay. It is known for its stunning natural scenery, friendly atmosphere, and artistic vibe. At just 6 kilometers wide and 12 kilometers long, Bowen Island is compact but packed with diverse landscapes, from dense forests and peaceful lakes to rocky shorelines and sandy beaches. This beautiful scenery made for a challenging build! Are you curious about the construction of this residence? Then have a look at the video made by Elevated Building Company.
