DynamicOffice

The Dutch Government Buildings Agency’s DynamicOffice in Haarlem was completed in 1997 and housed various government services. It was one of the first office buildings in the Netherlands with an innovative office concept. The employees made use of activity-related workstations in a flexible and communal manner: from concentration workstations to places for informal meetings. The office building, designed by Rudy Uytenhaak, also stood out because of the attention paid to sustainable construction.

A light appearance and vibrant feel

The interior also featured sustainable materials, with MOSO® bamboo parquet flooring. The light floor also reflects the daylight in the large office building. Architect Uytenhaak:

“Many office buildings have dark carpets as it absorbs spilled coffee well. But parquet is much nicer, it gives a light appearance and vibrant feel.”

Original bamboo parquet retained during refurbishment

In 2018, the office building was refurbished and occupied by Frame Offices. Atelier Floor and Brique Interieur renewed the entrance and the meeting rooms. With various materials, design furniture and lots of plants, a modern workspace was created. The bamboo parquet was given a new finish and, thanks to regular cleaning, the floor is still in excellent condition and will last for many more years to come.

“A project that makes use of MOSO® Bamboo Products offers several advantages compared to wood and other alternative materials, plus MOSO® Bamboo will last for years to come.”
