Headquarters Caisse d’Épargne de Bordeaux

Atlantica, the new head office of the Caisse d’Épargne, is part of the Euratlantique urban development project in Bordeaux. The building is 384 feet long and offers no less than 107,639 ft² of office space in the heart of Bordeaux to its employees. In order to ensure a responsible environmental approach, MOSO® Bamboo products are installed under various applications: Bamboo UltraDensity® flooring and stair treads and Bamboo Indoor Beams for wall and ceiling covering.

Sustainable bamboo fits eco-design aims

Atlantica offices were designed with particular attention to the environment, and are the first positive energy offices in Bordeaux. The  75,347 ft² glass facades allow employees to work with natural light for 70% of their working time. The roof is equipped with 17,222 ft² of photovoltaic panels to provide the necessary energy for part of its operation. The various MOSO® Bamboo elements, thanks to their neutral carbon footprint, make it possible to provide ecological credits for the HQE ecological certification.

More about sustainability

Symbol for company values

Untreated, bright concrete, with transparent facades and warm natural bamboo, act as a symbol for the company’s values: solidity, transparency and innovation. The building design aims to create a movement by reflections, which connects to the atmosphere of the surrounding river landscape. A glass screen revealing the inner life of the siege is a large, urban-scale window facing the heart of Bordeaux. High transparency of the facades allows natural light to be brought into the heart of the building and thus reduces the need for artificial lighting. Light bamboo wall siding contributes to the light reflection.

A building in line with the times and offering the most modern architecture

According to the architects, the geometry of the building is part of a prism. Wide amplitudes of inflection animate the building with a movement, like an evocation of the river landscape. Large vegetated faults break the linearity of the volume. Strata, folds, intervals and faults animate its façades and convey a contemporary aesthetic on a human scale. A glass screen revealing the inner life of the siege is a large, urban-scale window facing the heart of Bordeaux.
