Riverside building
The Riverside building in Santa Comba Dão, Portugal, is a bold example...
In the Nijmegen ‘Dijkzone’, along the banks of the river Waal, three refined residential buildings are named after the iconic architect Frank Lloyd Wright. The apartments are built on top of an artificial mound of approximately three meters high. Cars are parked inside the mound, which makes the surrounding area beautifully green. From this elevated position, residents enjoy sweeping views over the river Waal and the historic centre of Nijmegen.
Standing in front of the building, three things stand out: the expansive windows, the white horizontal lines formed by the ceramic balconies, and the wooden façade cladding made from MOSO® Bamboo. The vertical cladding alternates Bamboo X-treme closed panels and beams, creating a subtle interplay of light and shadow throughout the day. The architects’ choice of neutral colours and natural materials enhances the lush green surroundings, resulting in a modern, eco-conscious design that feels seamlessly embedded in its environment.
Worldwide there are numerous examples of projects with bamboo. We would like to present to you a number of recently completed projects:
