Mooijburg is a groundbreaking Co-Creation venture by project developers DGV Group and Evergreen Development situated on Center Island in Amsterdam. Positioned superbly along the IJsselmeer waterfront, its striking silhouette boasts wooden facades adorned with staggered windows, balconies, or loggias, alongside glass greenhouses, defining its presence as a distinguished addition to the island’s skyline. MOSO^® Bamboo X-treme^® has been used on the façade of this project in 2 forms: Closed and Yoroi (charred MOSO^® Bamboo X-treme^® by Zwarthout)

Biobased façade with bamboo

Among the many biobased materials on the Mooijburg façade, MOSO^® Bamboo X-treme^® has also been chosen and in 2 forms none the less. Bamboo X-treme^® Closed Cladding has been installed right next to Yoroi and this combination has a really stunning result. The choice for Bamboo X-treme^® stemmed from its extreme durability and the fire resistance of the material, attributed to the density (1150 kg / m³) and thermal modification, ensuring the high quality MOSO^® guarantees.

Beneath this captivating exterior of many different biobased materials, lies an array of residential options catering to diverse lifestyles. From cozy apartments to spacious family maisonettes, and from versatile work-living units to luxurious penthouses, the development offers a spectrum of living experiences. Home sizes range from approximately 61 m² to an expansive 140 m².

Ambitious sustainability standards

Elevating the standards of sustainable architecture, the building stands as a testament to eco-conscious design. Crafted with a CLT wooden structure, it embraces an energy-positive ethos through solar panels, heat pumps, and high insulation standards. Leveraging biobased materials and featuring rooftop greenhouses, nature-inclusive facades, and rainproof design with green roofs and water buffers, it embodies holistic sustainability.
