The Roofs

In June 2023, MOSO® opened the doors of its new headquarters in Zwaag (The Netherlands). The new building, designed by Landmark Vastgoed Management and built with the highest attention to detail by Stabo Bouw features MOSO® Bamboo Products indoors and outdoors.
From the outside, one can admire the stunning façade made of MOSO® Bamboo X-treme® Varibo Cladding, combined with MOSO® Bamboo N-durance® Cladding on one side of the building. The cladding’s rich brown and amber colours seamlessly extend to its outdoor terrace, which features MOSO® Bamboo X-treme® and MOSO® Bamboo N-durance® Decking. Employees can enjoy the sunny days on the custom-made wavy bench built with MOSO® Bamboo N-durance® Beams by Erlau Rudgetten or sitting around picnic tables created from MOSO® Bamboo X-treme® Beams by Adezz.
Indoor, MOSO® opted for industrial design combined with natural bamboo elements. The floor is covered with MOSO® Bamboo Industriale Flooring, which is recognized for its high stability and durability. The ladder pattern gives it a distinctive, industrial look while the thick top layer provides high stability, making it a perfect choice for installations in high-traffic areas.
The furniture in the lunch and office areas is made from MOSO® Bamboo Solid Panels combined with other recycled materials. Created in collaboration with Opnieuw – a leader in sustainable interior products and circular solutions, it adds natural warmth to the space. MOSO® Bamboo Products are antistatic and anti-allergic, which makes them beneficial for the employees.
MOSO®’s commitment to sustainability extends beyond the use of natural building materials. The new premises are equipped with 1,000 solar panels to reduce the company’s carbon footprint. Besides, the entire facility, including the warehouse, operates without natural gas, aligning with its ambition to achieve full carbon neutrality.
The incredibly fast growth of bamboo makes it an exceptionally renewable resource, perfect for eco-friendly construction projects. In general, 20-25% of the bamboo stems can be sustainably harvested annually without decreasing the size of the plantation or number of stems per hectare in the forest, nor does the rhizome die after harvesting. On the contrary, by harvesting the mature poles, the yield and quality of the plantation actually increases. Moso International’s headquarters in Zwaag can be seen as proof of its dedication to sustainability and quality, and at the same time inspiration for other eco-friendly construction projects.
