Polytechnic of Turin – Central Engineering Library

The central library at Turin Polytechnic in Italy has been renovated to provide students with a new workspace. As a result, the library offers users more space and workstations for studying and reading with improved acoustic comfort and lighting, and user-friendliness with new ‘flex’ areas such as the staircase, which can be transformed into a space for one-off events and used as a reading area. Antonio De Rossi, the project coordinator, explains that from an architectural point of view, the main objective was to create a new dimension by breaking up the fragmented spaces. MOSO^® Bamboo UltraDensity^® Flooring covers the library floors, bringing a warm and ecological touch to the project. This solid bamboo flooring brings a balance to the predominantly white colour of the other elements, such as the chairs, tables and partitions.
