The Pont Zaepfel in Strasbourg is a tram and bicycle bridge over the Ill River and supports local traffic. The bridge is also part of the city’s tram network and is used by the Strasbourg tramway system.
MOSO® Bamboo X-treme decking was used for the bridge deck, mounted on Grad’s aluminium substructure system which allows for quick and detailed installation. The boards (40 x 155 mm) have an integrated anti-slip line, providing maximum safety against slipperiness for example after rainfall. Thanks to the combination of thermal modification and compression, Bamboo X-treme achieves durability class 1 and offers exceptional hardness, stability and wear resistance.
