The area of Candlewood, Ohio is known for its exceptional water quality and peaceful atmosphere. When Professional photographer Rob Turner decided to build a dock, he chose to use MOSO® Bamboo X-treme® Decking—which pairs beautifully with the picturesque landscape in the background. Mr. Turner recently designed, built, and photographed the dock next to his future private residence at the lakeside.
When searching for the right material for his new dock, Mr. Turner browsed the internet and compared alternatives. The key aim was to have a natural, yet very durable material. The location, next to the water and just above the ground, requires a very stable decking material. He considered ipe tropical hardwood, which fits nearly all the requirements. However, even though he doesn’t consider himself to be an environmentalist, the rapid growth and ecological benefits of Bamboo X-treme® played a role in his decision. In connection with the MOSO® representative of Showcase Marketing, they decided to go for Bamboo X-treme®.
With Bamboo X-treme® being extremely stable, Mr. Turner was free to design the dock in any shape he could think of. An existing tree was in the middle of the area where he wanted to build the dock, but thanks to Mr. Turner’s incredible design the tree was able to stay put and attract even more attention. MOSO® Bamboo X-treme® Decking boards come with a standard grooved and smooth side, and during installation some of the boards can be installed with the grooved side face up for an interesting design element.
