Statenzaal

A former bank building, designed by architects van Mourik in the 1990s, has been transformed into the home of the province of Utrecht in just a few years. The provincial hall of the Provincial House in Utrecht forms the heart of the provincial democracy and this has been made visible in the new interior design by architects van Mourik. The logo of the province of Utrecht is printed oversized on the newly covered walls of the concrete building. In the provincial hall the furniture is made of MOSO® Bamboo Solid Panels. In combination with the fabrics of the walls and floors a warm appearance and strongly improved acoustics were created. The goal was to create a living room for the province of Utrecht and the bamboo clearly contributes to the homely atmosphere. Architects van Mourik certainly also took sustainability into account when choosing materials: the chosen materials have a long lifespan, minimal maintenance and are easy to separate at the end of their lifespan.
