A truly durable, fire resistant and sustainable cladding alternative to non-renewable materials and scarce tropical hardwoods that offers the look, feel and sustainable characteristics that accompany a natural material.
MOSO® Bamboo X-treme cladding is a solid, High Density exterior bamboo board, made from compressed bamboo strips. A unique heat treatment/compression process provides Bamboo X-treme with the highest durability class possible in the appropriate EU norms, increases the stability and density, and consequently the hardness. This makes it suitable for very demanding applications.
MOSO® Bamboo X-treme cladding boards are made from the fast growing Moso bamboo, a rapidly renewable resource that not only grows very fast (up to 1 meter a day!) but does not result in deforestation as the plant does not die once the stems have been harvested. Like any wood species, after outdoor exposure, Bamboo X-treme will turn grey over time. A beautiful, natural look will appear providing an elegant appearance. The cladding requires no periodic maintenance and will naturally age, though the brown colour can also be maintained with an outdoor maintenance oil.
From vertical cladding to incorporating different widths in your design or using beams to create a sunscreen, a wide range of styles and profiles is available in the MOSO® Bamboo X‑treme range.
After installation, facades with Bamboo X-treme cladding do not require any periodic maintenance at all, which results in huge time and cost savings. Bamboo X-treme cladding withstands temperature changes with hardly any shrinking and swelling. Thanks to the extremely high stability, the boards will stay flat and in place unlike other natural materials. The original characteristics of the material rival the best hardwoods. Just like all hardwoods, bamboo turns grey over time, creating an attractive natural look.
Contrary to other wood products, MOSO® Bamboo X-treme cladding reaches fire safety Class B-s2-d0 (EN 13501-1) and Class A (ASTM E84). This makes it applicable for buildings with stringent fire safety requirements like apartments, commercial buildings and gas stations, while giving a beautiful natural appearance to the facade. MOSO® Bamboo cladding reaches this exceptional fire safety without the impregnation with expensive and eco-damaging fire retardants. This makes the product safe for the environment and for the people who work with it during the production and installation process. Sustainable, safe and beautiful!
By using the Bamboo X-treme closed cladding profile for your project, there is another advantage in terms of fire resistance: it offers a Class B-s2-d0 (EN 13501-1) certification for the entire installation system (screwed or with the Grad click system).
MOSO® Bamboo is expanding the Bamboo X‑treme and Bamboo N-durance ranges with new board lengths: 1,850 mm / 3,050 mm / 3,650 mm. Other custom sizes can be produced on request.
MOSO® Bamboo is now offering Bamboo X‑treme decking and cladding in the colour option ‘Elegance’. This gives the boards a beautiful pre-aged grey appearance, similar to the natural grey of weathered Bamboo X‑treme. Achieve the popular grey colour from day one!
