In partnership with our partner, Awood, we now provide an end-of-life return return warranty for Bamboo X-treme products in the Netherlands.
Bamboo X‑treme cladding and decking boards, supplied by Awood, come with a 25-year take-back guarantee. When the elements reach the end of their first life cycle, they are taken back and given a second life as MOSO® Reclaimed. The initiative is an important step towards circular construction economy: valuable materials are preserved and given a new purpose without any loss of quality.
Bamboo X-treme cladding and decking products have the highest durability class (durability class 1 in accordance with EN 350), high dimensional stability and fire resistance in combination with a removable installation technique. Thanks to the unique Thermo-Density technology the boards retain these technical properties throughout their entire lifespan. Cleaning and mechanical brushing restore the boards to their original appearance: ready for sustainable repurposing.
The MOSO® Reclaimed Bamboo X-treme cladding and decking boards are also included in the Dutch National Environmental Database (NMD). With environmental costs of only €2.26 per m² over a lifespan of 50 years, MOSO® Bamboo X-treme is one of the best performing biobased façade systems that achieve fire class up to B-s1-d0 (End use, according to EN 13501-1) without the addition of chemical fire retardants. Moreover, the CO₂ storage in the material (29.9 kg CO₂/m²) is 60% higher than the total emissions over the entire life cycle (17.9 kg CO₂/m²). This results in a very positive climate balance as long as the product remains in use, which is further facilitated by reuse. Furthermore, the rapid growth of giant bamboo (ready for harvesting after 4-5 years) is not included in the environmental score.
