Certified, sustainable and thermally modified bamboo
Typically, porch flooring is constructed with (tropical) hardwood or softwood and the quality can vary. Compared to (tropical) woods and WPC material, bamboo has far more ecological and technical benefits. It’s harder, more durable, and looks stunning when installed on a porch floor. Combined with Bamboo X-treme® Decking, a multitude of design options are available for modern, sustainable outdoor living areas.
The solid bamboo 1×4 T&G boards MOSO® Bamboo X-treme® are made from compressed, thermally modified bamboo strips. The fixed 1×4 sized boards are perfect for outdoor applications, such as as porch flooring or soffits. The extreme stability of the material ensures a very durable bamboo surface or outdoor living area with the natural appearance of hardwood.
Soffits serve both an aesthetic and functional purpose for a building’s roofing system. It covers your eaves — without it, drab rafter beams are left fully exposed. Why not cover them up with beautiful bamboo soffit in the style and color of your choice and add some instant character to your building?
A unique heat treatment process called Thermo-Density® guarantees that Bamboo X-treme® meets the highest durability class possible within the appropriate EU norms.* The Thermo-Density® process modifies and removes sugar molecules which are naturally present in untreated bamboo. After this treatment, bamboo is no longer a food source for fungi and micro-organisms. Additionally, the process increases the density – making the bamboo planks very hard.

MOSO® Bamboo X-treme® 1×4 T&G is very stable as a result of our unique heat treatment process called Thermo-Density®. The boards are more stable than any tropical hardwood and therefore can be produced with tongue and groove connection. This prevents between the sides which not only looks more appealing, but is also quicker and easier to install compared to non-profiled decking boards.
The 1×4 T&G boards in the MOSO® Bamboo X-treme® collection have many characteristics similar to (tropical) hardwood. However, Bamboo X-treme® boards are made from the fast growing Moso bamboo, a rapidly renewable resource. This species grows incredibly fast (up to 1 meter per day!) and does not result in deforestation because, unlike hardwood trees, Moso bamboo does not die after harvesting. Like any hardwood species that is exposed to the elements, Bamboo X-treme® will turn grey over time, creating a beautiful, natural look similar to weathered hardwood.
